In late 2022, our team successfully produced our first X-pin stator samples. Since then, we’ve continued exploring X-pin technology for OEM applications.

Flat-wire stators generally take several forms, including U-pin, I-pin, and X-pin.
Unlike conventional hairpin windings, where the wire ends are arranged in parallel before welding, X-pin uses a crossed “X” geometry at the wire ends.

X-pin is particularly suited to compact, high-torque-density motors where axial space and welding-tool clearance are limited.
This makes it an interesting option for high-speed industrial applications such as centrifugal compressors and high-speed spindles, where reducing axial length can contribute to higher power density.

X-pin also comes with tighter process requirements.
Unlike conventional hairpin production, there is no trimming step to correct forming errors, so dimensional consistency depends heavily on forming precision.
Enamel stripping also requires laser processing to achieve a clean cross-section at the required strip length. The welding process differs from standard hairpin welding as well, requiring tighter control across the production line.

We’re a flat-wire stator manufacturer specializing in prototyping and OEM production, supporting U-pin, I-pin, Edgewise-Wound, and X-pin windings.
Since producing our first successful X-pin sample in late 2022, we’ve developed this into a repeatable manufacturing capability:
• Prototype turnaround: <15 days
• Prototype core scrap rate: ≈0%
• PDIV after varnishing: >3,500 V
• ISO 9001:2015 / IATF 16949:2016 certified
If you’re evaluating X-pin, looking for a flat-wire/hairpin stator prototyping or OEM partner, or need production equipment for your own line — let’s connect.
